GoGoGo Sport Rangefinder – Product Review…

We review the latest GoGoGo Sport Rangefinder?

We are always flattered when we are asked to review new gadgets and now that Rangefinders are legal to use in competition, it’s no surprise that well-established brands such as Bushnell and Golf Buddy sell well.

However, let’s see how one of the lesser-known brands stack up.

With many GPS and Rangefinders now on the market, we test the GoGoGo Sport Rangefinder VPRO650…

Overall Look & Feel

On taking the VPRO GS24 Rangefinder out of its box, the first thing you notice is the feel of the silky rubber and the cool sleek design.

Most manufacturers of golf equipment are keen to plaster their products with too many logos, product numbers, and function detail. But here, the designers have resisted the temptation, and instead gone for a simple, clean, and stylish finish, which I really like.

The soft-touch rubber casing makes the Rangefinder feel very comfortable in the hand and it feels like it could happily take some knocks without being too damaged.

Also included is a handy strap to aid and steady the item when in use. In addition, there is also a sturdy, hard, and compact carrying case.

GoGoGo Sport Rangefinder - The Social Golfer - Laser VPRO GS24 review v6

On the Course

The VPRO GS24 is very easy to use and whilst it took a few practice runs on the Putting Green, I was using this device successfully by the first green.

Having only used other golfer’s Laser Rangefinders in the past (I have a VoiceCaddie), I didn’t really know what to expect.

However, I was very impressed, and it stood toe to toe with my GolfBuddy GPS without any contradiction in the distance.

In fact, it’s the perfect addition, as my voice caddy does not give me distances to bunkers or ditches.

There are two core buttons for you to use:

  1. On/Off and Target LOCK
  2. Set the distance currency you prefer e.g. Yards or Metres (very handy if you play golf courses in Europe or further afield)

You can also use the ‘focus’ wheel on the eyepiece to sharpen the image you are targeting, depending on your eyesight.

Now, the real benefit over a GPS caddie is the SLOPE setting.

Yes, this baby allows for the gradient of the terrain, thus giving you pin-point accuracy from anywhere.

And finally, the setting that I enjoyed more than anything was the M2 setting, which allows you to LOCK-ON to your target.

This immediately takes out any shake and prevents the potential of a misread.

Price & Shipping

Always the core element when making a decision on which Rangefinder to buy is price.

Now, the first thing to note is that most ‘comparable’ products on the golfing market today start in excess of £200 ($250), so at approx £70 (lower with a sale coupon), the VPRO GS24, stands alone in terms of value for money!

Yes, you could spend more on a brand name but why? I can’t see how one could justify the additional cost.

This is, without doubt, one of the best value products we have been asked to review!

In terms of shipping, you may have to wait a little longer than the next day delivery you may experience with Amazon but I only waited 8 days from ordering to arrival, so unless you are in a great hurry, this is very reasonable.’

The Product Range

Obviously, with any Rangefinder brand, there is a range to cater both to the ‘geek’ who wants all the bells and whistles and the more affordable items that just do the basic job of reading distances.

The Social Golfer - Highly Recommended - 5 Stars

TSG Verdict: 5 out of 5 Stars

After using this GoGoGo Sport Rangefinder twice on the course, I can safely say I don’t why I haven’t looked at getting one before.

Ah yes that’s right, the price. I was never going to pay over £200 or more for something I’ll only use x10 times a year.

However, with products in the range starting from £55, rising to the top of the range at £75, I can’t find fault in this product in any way.

If you are looking to invest in a Rangefinder and you don’t need a recognised ‘Brand’ name to show off to friends, the GoGoGo Sport Rangefinder is the ‘smart’ choice and one I rate very highly indeed.
