Bletchingley Golf Club is the home of the TSG OPEN Championship every year and has so much more to offer than just a round of golf on a superb, well-maintained, and well-draining course.
We spoke to Steve Cookson the Bletchingley Golf Club Manager and PGA Professional who explained more …
For over 20 years, the award-winning Bletchingley Golf Club has given pleasure to golf enthusiasts – with its 6,600-yard, 72 par/standard scratch 18-hole Surrey golf course testing the skill of golfers of all abilities.
As you would expect from such a quality-conscious golf club, Bletchingley offers a wide range of memberships.
Offering splendid views over the North Downs, Bletchingley’s Clubhouse is the perfect place to relax and socialise with fellow players after your game; providing a friendly, comfortable environment in which you can enjoy delicious food and choose from a wide selection of alcoholic and soft drinks.
Situated 5 minutes from Junction 6 of the M25.
Bletchingley extends a warm welcome to visiting Golf Societies and has a long tradition of hosting societies and corporate days…
“We have always tried to be flexible with our packages. To this end, we recently decided to move away from the traditional standard packages and introduced ‘Build Your Own Society Day’. This method of tailoring your day to suit your requirements is proving to be very popular.”
“Our 7-Day Membership entitles players to full playing rights, including no further payments of ‘green fees’ and full use of our Practice Ground. 7-Day Members are also permitted to invite 3 guests to play at the Club at any time Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays and weekends – when guests are welcome after 9.30am.”
“Both the 7-Day and 5-Day Memberships enable golfers to enjoy a game of golf at EIGHT other golf courses in the area – something that has been well received by the membership – as well as take advantage of the 10%Discount on bar and catering via a swipe card plus an automatic 10% discount on room hire for private functions. We also offer a ‘Flexible Membership’ designed for the golfer who doesn’t play enough golf to justify subscribing to a 5 or 7-Day Membership but still wants to feel part of a golf club and benefit from the advantages membership can bring.”
The key benefits to players taking out a Flexible Club Membership include an opportunity to obtain an official handicap, as well as eligibility to play in midweek and Club Stableford competitions, excluding board competitions:
“This type of membership also entitles players to attend club social functions, together with enjoying discounted food and beverage prices via ‘Gold Card’ – with guests being charged at member’s flexible points rates. Annual renewal is not applicable to this membership category” added Steve, “However, it should be noted that for membership to remain active, a minimum balance of 50 points must be maintained throughout the year.”
As part of the Club’s commitment to encourage and develop golf champions of the future, youngsters can apply for Junior Membership or alternatively, the Club’s innovative Academy Membership designed for the novice or intermediate golfer without a handicap. Steve explained:
“Golf is a game that the whole family can learn and enjoy, with parents, grandparents, and children spending quality time together in beautiful surroundings. Our aim at Bletchingley Golf Club is to give you an insight into all aspects of the game including the basic fundamentals that will enhance your progression, advice on the latest equipment, rules of golf, and general etiquette. But most of all make sure you have FUN!”
As well as being able to take advantage of the Surrey County Card Scheme Bletchingley Golf Club, members and visitors alike are also able to take advantage of a range of excellent facilities including a comfortable Clubhouse.
Not to mention a well-stocked Pro Shop, offering a wide array of golf equipment, accessories, and clothing from leading brands at competitive prices.
During your visit why not book yourself onto a one-2-one clinic with Steve – Bletchingley’s Golf Pro, who uses the latest computer/video technology to help you improve your game.
Accommodating up to 180 people, the Club’s dedicated Function Suite is ideal for all types of occasions from intimate family gatherings to large functions such as weddings, parties, conferences, and exhibitions.
The team at the Golf Yearbook Online was so impressed with the course, facilities, and service provided at the Club, they voted unanimously in favour of Bletchingley Golf Club as the recipient of the coveted Surrey Golf Club of the Year Award 2013.
A spokesperson for the publication said: “We are always keen to bring attention to Golf Clubs that are willing to go that extra mile to ensure the expectations of their members and visitors are not only met, but exceeded. Bletchingley is such a Club and we are delighted to recommend the Club to our readers.”
